Bairrada Winery Route, half day from Coimbra

After pickup in Coimbra the tour begins with a scenic panoramic drive through the wine region where you will pass several traditional wine estates surrounded by vineyards. The journey allows you to appreciate the rural landscapes and understand the importance of wine culture in this area. During the route there will be a stop at one of the oldest and most traditional wineries in the region for a guided visit.

At the winery you will have direct contact with the terroir learning about the grapes and production process. You will explore the deep and cool tunnels where the wines age slowly under ideal conditions. The experience ends with a tasting session including local table wines and sparkling wine allowing you to appreciate the aromas flavors and character that define the region. After the visit the tour returns to Coimbra with a deeper understanding of local winemaking traditions.
