This full day tour explores the rich wine and gastronomic heritage of the Bairrada region an area known for producing some of Portugals most noble wines. The region is defined by traditional grape varieties such as Baga and Touriga Nacional for red wines and Bical Maria Gomes Arinto and Cercial for white wines. Its cool and humid climate combined with strong maritime influence creates grapes with high acidity and lower alcohol levels ideal for producing outstanding sparkling wines for which Bairrada is especially renowned.

During the tour you will experience the best of Bairrada through visits to historic wine cellars and old vineyards where you will learn about traditional winemaking and sparkling wine production. You will walk through deep underground tunnels used for aging wines and enjoy guided wine tastings. The gastronomic highlight is lunch at a typical restaurant famous for Bairrada roasted pig known for its crispy skin with alternative dishes available.
