This four hour on water training course follows the National Safe Boating Council curriculum and covers Modules 3 and 4 of the program. Training focuses on open water boat handling and advanced open water maneuvering with safety as the highest priority. Instruction begins with a review of boat terminology pre departure checklists and the proper use and location of safety equipment. Students then move into practical exercises designed to build confidence and skill while operating a twenty three foot center console training boat powered by a single outboard engine.
The course is designed for two students per instructor to ensure personalized guidance and effective hands on learning. Small group instruction allows participants to gain practical experience controlling the vessel understanding boat dynamics and responding to real water conditions. Courses are taught by certified instructors holding USCG and NSBC credentials. Upon successful completion of all four modules participants receive NSBC digital certification. This structured and supportive program helps boaters strengthen their skills and improve safe decision making on the water.
