Instruction is led by experienced Kayak Pittsburgh Excursionists certified under the American Canoe Association’s Level 1 curriculum. The training also includes swimming skill reinforcement and familiarization with essential rescue equipment to ensure a well-rounded safety foundation.
Organizers provide all necessary rescue gear, while participants are encouraged to bring their own seaworthy kayaks if available. Attendees are advised to wear quick-drying clothing, closed-toe shoes, and arrive 15 minutes early for check-in.
