Mount Etna Alcantara Jeep Tour
This full day nature excursion lasts approximately seven hours and combines Mount Etna landscapes with the famous Alcantara River Park. The experience starts from Catania or Taormina before traveling through Giarre, Santa Venerina, Milo, Fornazzo, and the scenic Mare-neve road.
The journey includes a visit to a lava flow cave and an off road ride through the Ragabo forest. Guests reach the lava front from the 2002 eruption, where the road remains blocked by hardened lava. A technical stop follows at the Alpine refuge before continuing toward the extinct Sartorius Mountain craters.
The trekking section follows the Sartorius Mountains nature trail and offers an easy way to experience the volcanic landscape. After the trek, guests stop for lunch at a farmhouse or mountain refuge. Lunch is not included and can be arranged at the chosen stop.
The journey continues toward Linguaglossa, Castiglione di Sicilia, and Francavilla before reaching the spectacular Alcantara Gorges. The excursion is suitable for guests aged four and above, although children under 10 who are not accustomed to walking should not join. Hiking shoes and a windbreaker are mandatory, and the tour may be canceled if the minimum number of participants is not reached.
