A strong instructor demonstrates solid paddling skills, applies memorable teaching techniques, exercises sound judgment, and creates an enjoyable learning environment for everyone involved. This course is designed for individuals with prior paddling and teaching experience who are committed to maintaining high instructional standards. Participants will refine both on water and classroom skills while strengthening their ability to communicate effectively, manage groups, and promote safe decision making. The focus is on professional growth, practical application, and reinforcing the habits that define an excellent instructor.

During the course, we review current ACA best practices, updated teaching strategies, and relevant organizational changes. Participants practice a variety of instructional methods, receive constructive feedback, and collaborate with peers to enhance their effectiveness. Emphasis is placed on safety awareness, clear demonstrations, and adaptive teaching approaches that meet diverse student needs. Participation does not guarantee completion of update requirements. Instructors must demonstrate competency at their current level of certification through skill execution, teaching performance, and professional conduct.
