The American Mountain Guides (AMGA) Single Pitch Instructor (SPI) Course is the introductory program in the sequence of climbing instructor and guide training. It provides a structured pathway for recreational climbers to transition into skilled climbing instructors. The course is designed for climbers who are already proficient in both top-rope and lead climbing, allowing them to build the knowledge, techniques, and instructional skills necessary to teach others safely and effectively.
Since 2008, Red River Adventures has delivered high-quality SPI instruction, emphasizing best practices, hands-on teaching experience, and adherence to industry standards. Participants gain valuable experience in guiding and coaching climbers, developing their confidence and ability to lead instructional sessions in a variety of climbing environments.
