A Truly Unforgettable Experience — You Must Do This Tour! I don’t even know where to begin — this tour was absolutely incredible. From the very first moment you meet Dimitra and Kaliopi, you feel like you’ve come home. Their warmth, passion, and generosity shine through everything they do. They even make the effort to speak everyone’s language, which makes guests from all over the world feel instantly welcome. We joined the tour as a family of four — my husband, myself, and our two teenage sons — and from start to finish, we were all completely engaged. The tour begins with a fascinating introduction to the olive groves, the land, and the generations of family history behind them. We learned the difference between olives for oil and table olives, how they’re cultivated, and the deep traditions that connect each harvest to the next. Next, we watched how olives are transformed into olive oil, tapenade, and soap — a process full of care and craftsmanship. Then came an olive oil tasting and a lesson on recognizing true quality and pairing different oils with different foods. Throughout it all, Dimitra and Kaliopi made the experience deeply personal. They took the time to learn our names, include us in their storytelling, and make every moment feel meaningful and genuine. And then came the lunch — an unforgettable meal of local dishes made with their own olive oil. Everything was delicious, fresh, and full of love. They even gave us handmade soaps as a thoughtful gift, and when we later went to purchase some of their wonderful products, they surprised us again with bottles of olive oil to take home. It was such a kind and heartfelt gesture that perfectly reflects who they are. We arrived as tourists but left feeling like family. This was without question the highlight of our trip to Greece. Even if you’re not in Kalamata, make the trip — this experience is truly one of a kind!

We had a wonderful time on our Olive oil tour and cooking class. They were kind enough to accommodate our limited availability and helped us arrange for taxi to and from the facility. Everyone made us feel welcomed and special. The tour and cooking class were very informative and the lunch was wonderful. From start to finish we couldn’t have asked for a better day.

Fantastic tour which exceeded any expectations i had.... very informative and fun either an interactive element so that everyone was invoiced and included. Such passion and love for Olives tradition family and Greece. The whole experience was fabulous. I've always lived Olives and use alot of Olive oil at home not this tour gave me a new appreciation for the nuances in quality and tastes. An added bonus was Georgia's home made delights for our mezze lunch... including Kolokithopita ( pumpkin pie ) ! Delicious. Highly recommend this tour... its not a big soulless producer where you are but another tourist... but rather part of the family as it is their own business and part of their Olive story in Greece. So good. 🫒

An Unforgettable Olive Experience—Worth Every Cent! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My girlfriend and I were absolutely thrilled with our experience at The Olive Routes in Messinia! We initially tried booking via their website, but found that all tours were fully booked. Determined to go, I messaged them on WhatsApp and thanks to the wonderful Dimitra, they were able to arrange an extra tour just for us. It was truly worth every penny. From start to finish the tour was deeply informative, charming, and heartwarming. We learned so much about olives and olive oil, but what stood out most was the way the experience felt so personal and lovingly crafted. The tour had a creative twist—a fun puzzle or treasure hunt incorporated to help us understand the olives and their rich historical background—a delightful touch. We then visited their traditional olive mill, where a local cook treated us to hands down the best lunch of our vacation. Everything was prepared with care, flavor, and genuine warmth. In short: an unforgettable experience, filled with caring people, incredible food, and new knowledge about olives. We’re truly grateful. Highly recommend.

This was a wonderful and insightful tour about the olive oil production in Kalamata. Starting from our meeting point at the Androusa castle where we walked through the olive grove to the olive mill where we learnt about the local olive oil production. Our guide Dimitra was lovely and full of knowledge and you can really feel her passion for this is in her blood. The olive oil tasting plus the snacks and local delicacies was a delight. Thank you for an amazing day and this really capped off my wonderful experience in Kalamata! Highly recommend!
