Hunting Certification

Spearfishing is one of the most sustainable and selective ways to fish because you are choosing species that are legal, of the proper size, and that you genuinely want to eat. Our spearfishing course spans two half-day sessions where participants learn proper gun handling, target practice, boat etiquette, legal limits and species, filleting techniques, and how to prepare their catch. A variety of equipment is available, including spearguns, pole spears, and lobstering tools, allowing each participant to select the gear that best suits their comfort and skill level. The course emphasizes safety, responsibility, and respect for the marine environment while providing hands-on experience that builds confidence and competence in the water.

Upon successful completion of the program, participants can choose to receive either a PADI or NAUI Underwater Hunter Certification card. The course is designed for those aged fifteen and above. For those unable to complete the full two-day certification, hiring a hunting guide for a half-day excursion is an excellent alternative. All of our dive boats carry both fishing and lobstering licenses, ensuring legal and safe harvesting for our passengers. Both the certification course and guided hunting trips include the use of our spearfishing and lobstering equipment. These private classes are designed to maximize safety and ensure each participant achieves success in the water while learning sustainable and ethical hunting practices. The program combines skill development, responsible marine stewardship, and the joy of harvesting your own fresh seafood in a controlled and enjoyable environment.
