The experience begins at 8:30 am in front of Hotel Astória in Coimbra, followed by a transfer to Penedo da Saudade near the Carmelo de Santa Teresa and the memorial of Sister Lúcia. From here, the first cycling stage covers approximately 50 kilometers, gradually transitioning from the urban riverside of the Mondego into quiet countryside roads and traditional villages.
An overnight stay along the route includes hotel accommodation with dinner and breakfast, allowing time to rest and reflect. The following day continues with a 62-kilometer ride through secondary roads and natural paths surrounded by forests, farmland, and serene landscapes leading toward Fátima.
Upon arrival at the Sanctuary of Fátima, participants complete their spiritual cycling journey before returning to Coimbra by transfer. Combining faith, nature, and endurance, the Carmelite Route offers a deeply personal and memorable pilgrimage experience.
