Located inside the Eagle Cap Wilderness Area, the camp is renowned for its solitude, fresh tracks, and stunning alpine slopes. Guests begin with a gentle four mile approach gaining eighteen hundred feet in elevation, winding through a dense forest with only two switchbacks. Once in the basin, the terrain offers a variety of skiing options, from low-angled gladed meadows to broad moderate north-facing alpine bowls and non-technical summits with occasional black-diamond chutes. This combination of accessible and challenging terrain makes McCully Basin suitable for skiers of varying abilities while providing an immersive wilderness experience. The camp’s secluded location ensures a peaceful and unforgettable adventure in the heart of the mountains.
Accommodations at McCully Basin include two separate sleeping yurts that each sleep up to five guests, equipped with wood stoves, cots, and foam pads for comfort. A kitchen yurt is available with additional cots for after-hours use, and a cold spring water source provides fresh drinking water. The camp combines rustic charm with practical amenities, allowing guests to focus on skiing and enjoying the natural beauty of the area.
