This backcountry ski trip begins in Girdwood, home to the famous Alyeska Resort. Depending on your chosen destination, the drive to Turnagain Pass takes approximately thirty minutes, Summitt Pass about one hour south, and Hatcher’s Pass in the Talkeetna Mountains roughly two hours north. The guide selects the best location based on snow quality, weather conditions, avalanche forecasts, and your skiing abilities. This ensures a safe, enjoyable, and tailored experience for all participants while exploring some of Alaska’s most scenic backcountry terrain. Each day is carefully planned to maximize skiing opportunities while providing breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and wilderness.
A full-day tour typically includes multiple runs in the backcountry, though the number and difficulty of runs depend on snow and mountain conditions. Guides work closely with participants to find the optimal terrain for each day, ensuring both safety and enjoyment. Skiers seeking steeper or more challenging lines are encouraged to consider multi-day trips, as conditions vary and may not guarantee advanced terrain on a single day. With experienced guides leading the way, participants gain confidence, skill, and the chance to explore some of Alaska’s most pristine and adventurous ski areas. This backcountry tour provides a unique combination of expert instruction, alpine adventure, and unforgettable natural beauty.

Absolute best toured bust ride of Dublin! Our tour guide Pat and our bus driver Alec was just extraordinary in their manners, how much they care about their passengers/guests and in their charismatic way of being! We simply had a blast! The best time ever! The sights were amazing! The way that Pat told the history of Ireland as we drove, was fantastic! He’s simply fantastic! It was such a pleasure to be on this tour and I would 10/10 do it again! 🤩

Amazing tour with Pat (our guide) and Sir Alec (our driver). Sir Alex was the most experienced driver imaginable with fancy maneuvering through the tight roads. Pat was very knowledgeable and humorous. He provided lots of useful historical information on the areas we visited and kept us entertained the entire time! Unfortunately the castle was closed the day we went which was disappointing as that was one of our main reasons for going…but that was beyond Pat and Alec’s control.

Wonderful tour! Would recommend to anyone who is in Dublin for an oppurtunity to get out of the city and see the magical views of the greenery of Ireland! Road to Glendalough was filled with hilltops, fields with sheep, rivers and lakes. Also really enjoyed the town of Kilkenny and had a great walk and lunch. Big thank you to our tour guide Pat who really made sure everyone was warmly welcommed and told us great stories of Irish history. He was absolutely the best! Also our bus driver Greg desreves a round of aplause for a nice smooth ride! It was a great pleasure to be on a journey with you both!

We had an absolutely lovely time on the Collins Day Tours day trip to Glendalough, Wicklow and Kilkenny. Patrick, our tour guide, truly made the experience special. His wonderful sense of humour, warm personality and the way he shared stories, facts and history kept the entire journey engaging and enjoyable. I really appreciated how effortlessly he created a positive atmosphere throughout the day. A big thank you as well to Seamus (also Pat), our driver, for the smooth and steady ride and it made the long journey so much more comfortable. Overall, it was a memorable day out and I’m genuinely grateful to both Patrick and Seamus for making the experience so delightful. Highly recommended!

Our trip to Glendalough, the Wicklow Mountains, and Kilkenny was absolutely amazing! From start to finish, both Mike (our tour guide) and Adam (our driver) made the day so enjoyable. Mike’s storytelling was captivating — he brought Ireland’s history, legends, and landscapes to life in such a fun and engaging way. His friendliness and humor made everyone feel welcome and kept us entertained throughout the journey. Adam was an excellent driver — so accommodating and professional — and we all felt safe and comfortable as we wound through the beautiful countryside. The scenery was simply breathtaking, and thanks to Mike and Adam, the entire experience was seamless, informative, and full of laughter. This tour was truly unforgettable, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Ireland!
