During this session, you will work with the tube top and skirt patterns from the De Steek collection while learning the basics of sewing stretchy fabrics. The lesson provides a hands-on introduction to garment making in a creative and supportive environment.
Participants will also learn how to use a serger for creating strong seams and professional finishing techniques on the sewing machine. The class covers essential skills such as cutting stretchy fabrics, working with patterns, creating basic seams, finishing hems, and adding creative variations like gatherings and splits. Each step is designed to help learners build confidence in sewing.
The lesson is suitable for complete beginners as well as those with some sewing experience who wish to refresh their skills. Classes are conducted in both Dutch and English and accommodate sizes ranging from XS to XXL, ensuring inclusivity for all participants.
From January, all Sewing Café workshops, courses, and lessons will take place at the Amsterdam West location, offering a creative and inspiring space to learn.
