Have you completed the Beginner Sewing Course and want to continue learning, or do you have some sewing experience and want a refresher? This four-week course is designed to help you advance your skills while creating a follow-up garment. You can choose to make your own trousers or blouse/shirt using patterns developed by De Steek. Women can select between wide-legged pleated pants or a raglan-sleeve blouse, while men can choose between elastic-waist trousers or a buttoned shirt. Classes are held in the Sewing Café with guidance provided by professional fashion designer Andrea. Lessons are available in Dutch and English, and you can schedule them flexibly according to your preference.
Materials can be included or brought by yourself. If you choose included materials, you will receive organic fabrics to make your chosen garment, and you can select your preferred fabric in our store. If you prefer to bring your own materials, you will receive a list of required items via email. From January, all Sewing Café workshops, courses, and lessons will take place at our Amsterdam West location, providing a creative and inspiring environment for learning. This course is suitable for beginners who wish to continue and for those who want to refresh and improve their skills.

This the best thing I’ve done all year! I decided to do a sewing class as it was a life skill early this year as it was a skill I wanted to have. Absolutely loved doing my course with Lorna. Very relaxed atmosphere and learned so much. Classes are great and Lorna is constantly checking in with you while you’re sewing. No problem with asking too many questions. Definitely signing up for more classes.

This is long overdue, I've taken several classes with them now, including bikini drafting, pattern drafting, and their "just as you go" sessions. Every single experience has been brilliant. I had classes with Lorna mostly and Veronica on occasion and they are both incredibly knowledgeable and approachable teachers. They make even complex concepts easy to understand and are always happy to answer questions or offer guidance. Classes cater to all levels, from those with some sewing experience to those who are more advanced. You'll feel comfortable and supported in their classes no matter where your skills are at. I can't recommend When Poppy Met Daisy enough, if you're looking to improve your existing sewing skills or learn some new techniques, definitely check them out.
