Sewing Lesson: (Flared) Legging (De Pijp)

Gain valuable experience working with stretchy fabrics and the overlock machine in this engaging sewing lesson at our Sewing Café. During this three-hour session, you will create your own flared leggings using all organic materials provided. This lesson is ideal for beginners who are sewing with stretchy fabrics for the first time, offering hands-on practice with essential techniques. You will learn how to cut stretchy fabric accurately, follow a sewing pattern, create basic seams, and finish a waistband with elastic. Additionally, you will learn how to finish hems on stretch fabrics and gain confidence using the serger.

The lesson is guided by fashion designer Andrea van der Kuil and is suitable for complete beginners as well as those with some sewing experience who wish to refresh their skills. Classes are conducted in Dutch and English, and the lesson accommodates sizes XS to XL. From January, all Sewing Café workshops, courses, and lessons will take place at our Amsterdam West location, providing a creative and inspiring space to learn.
