The interior site at the Gala River Front Campground offers a peaceful camping experience away from the water while still providing drive in and paddle in access. Located at 80 Thompson Drive in Eagle Rock Virginia, the campground is about thirty minutes or twenty one river miles upstream from Buchanan. The site is part of an eight acre parcel situated behind a working dairy farm and provides a quiet, natural setting for families or small groups. Each campsite includes a picnic table, fire ring, and a level gravel area suitable for tents. The campground also has a group river access area, port a potties, and a dumpster for trash. No utilities or water are provided, so guests must bring their own drinking water. The rate is twelve dollars per person per night plus tax, with a minimum thirty six dollar camping fee, and children under five are not counted for billing purposes. Advanced reservations are required since the campground is unmanned and offers a private and rustic outdoor experience.

Access to the interior site requires passing under a railroad bridge that restricts vehicles longer than twenty five feet, making it unsuitable for large RVs. The location provides a quiet escape where visitors can relax at their campsite, enjoy the surrounding nature, and explore nearby trails. While not located on the water, the interior site still allows for easy access to river activities for those bringing paddle craft. With basic amenities and a serene environment, the campground offers a simple and authentic camping experience ideal for short trips or weekend getaways. Guests can enjoy privacy, natural beauty, and the tranquility of the area while camping in a rustic riverside setting.

Very nice , clean and organized campsite next to the beach and well communicated. Very clean restrooms in September, very quiet. The beach is under construction 🚧 but you can enjoy the sunset anyway. We paint 38€ for one night

Great motorhome site with access to a fabulous beach. There's sand extraction work going on at each end of it but there's plenty of room to enjoy the sea. Be aware there were a small number of nudists on the beach one day. Facilities cleaned twice daily and a WiFi zone near the bar/restaurant. All good we would return. Staff lovely & helpful. ACSI accepted.

Gorgeous campsite with swimming pool located 5 minutes from a stunning beach. Small restaurant and shop on site washing machines also available. I would definitely recommend a visit.

Great experience. The bungalow where we stayed was very well maintained. It is dog friendly but very quiet, specialy at night. Me, my wife and my female dog loved it.

The campsite is very nice. The pitches are spacious but unshaded, with good access and clean toilets. The cafeteria and restaurant are small but clean and have good prices. The beach is right next door, but be careful because of the waves and no lifeguard on duty. The only negative aspect: the mosquitoes. Permanent body repellent spray is recommended. A couple of years ago, we were at a campsite in Italy, near Venice. During siesta time, around 3 p.m., a spraying truck would come by daily. This made it easier to rest on your pitch without getting bitten five times a minute. Otherwise, we'll definitely be back.
