Escape to the River Rest Primitive Cabin offers a serene retreat along the banks of the James River in Gala, Virginia. This charming one-room cabin is designed for simplicity and relaxation, providing a rustic getaway in the heart of Botetourt County. Nestled within a gated campground, the cabin accommodates up to four guests with one double bed and two twin beds. Guests can enjoy direct access to the river, perfect for leisurely walks along the riverbank or quiet moments surrounded by nature. The cabin is off grid, meaning there is no electricity, running water, or shower, but a port-a-potty is conveniently located nearby. The site includes a picnic table, four folding chairs, and a fire ring, allowing visitors to enjoy meals and evenings outdoors. Firewood is available for purchase on site for cozy campfires, and advanced reservations are required as the campground is unmanned. Access is limited to vehicles under 25 feet due to a railroad bridge on the road to the site.

Check-in is after two PM, and guests will receive a code to unlock the key box upon reservation.
