Advanced Wasatch Backcountry Tour Pushes Limits in Utah Powder

An advanced backcountry skiing and snowboarding tour in Utah’s Wasatch Mountains is offering experienced riders a high-intensity way to explore some of the region’s best terrain. Designed for those seeking challenging lines and deep powder, the experience links multiple peaks, drainages, and slopes in a single day.

Depending on snow and weather conditions, participants may ski through tree runs during active storms or skin along exposed ridgelines to access steep, untouched slopes. The itinerary is highly flexible, allowing guides to select the best available terrain each day for optimal conditions.

Due to its demanding nature, the tour is reserved for strong and experienced tourers with proven stamina and solid skinning skills. Participants must be pre-approved by Red River Adventures, either through prior outings or direct assessment by guides.

Over the course of the day, skiers and snowboarders can expect to complete between 5,000 and 8,000 feet of climbing and descent. Set across Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons, the route delivers expansive views of the Wasatch Range while pushing endurance, skill, and technical ability to a higher level.
