The Enriched Air Diver Nitrox course is designed for divers who want to extend their bottom time and reduce surface intervals during repetitive dives. By using air with higher oxygen content and lower nitrogen content, divers can stay longer underwater and return to the surface sooner. The course begins with online theory through the PADI eLearning portal, where participants learn the principles of enriched air diving, the benefits of using nitrox, and considerations for enriched air equipment. This is followed by a one-hour classroom session that reinforces key concepts and ensures understanding of safe diving practices.
During the practical session, divers will learn how to analyse the oxygen content in their scuba tanks and set their dive computers correctly for nitrox diving. Participants will also discuss managing oxygen exposure to ensure safe and effective dives. The course is suitable for anyone aged 12 years and older who has an Open Water Diver certification and has completed the eLearning beforehand. Upon completion, divers will be certified to use enriched air nitrox, allowing them to enjoy longer dives, safer repetitive dives, and improved overall diving experiences at a variety of dive sites.
