SSI Science of Diving Course Builds Foundation for Professional-Level Diving Knowledge

The SSI Science of Diving specialty course offers a structured academic introduction to the principles that govern underwater diving. Designed to deepen a diver’s understanding of the marine environment and human physiological responses, the program covers essential topics including physics, physiology, decompression theory, diving equipment, and aquatic ecosystems.

This theoretical training is intended to strengthen diver safety, improve decision-making, and build confidence across a wide range of diving conditions. By developing a clearer understanding of how diving impacts the body and environment, participants are better prepared for both recreational and more advanced underwater activities.
