Advanced Open Water Diver Course Elevates Skills in Lagos Waters

An Advanced Open Water Diver course offered in Lagos is providing certified divers aged 12 and above with an opportunity to build confidence and expand their underwater capabilities. The program is structured around five dives, combining core training in navigation and deep diving with three additional specialty dives selected by participants.

Training takes place in some of the most scenic underwater locations near Ponta da Piedade, where divers encounter vibrant marine ecosystems. The area’s reefs are home to diverse marine life, including colorful fish, corals, and octopus, offering an engaging environment for skill development and underwater exploration under professional supervision.

The course emphasizes practical learning, with each dive designed to strengthen key competencies while ensuring safety. Participants complete a deep dive, a navigation dive, and three specialty dives, reaching depths of up to 30 meters depending on age restrictions. Many of the specialty dives may also count toward formal PADI® specialty certifications, adding value to the training experience.

All essential equipment is provided, including wetsuit, regulator, BCD, mask, fins, boots, manuals, and certification upon completion. Additional safety tools such as dive computers, flashlights, and surface marker buoys are not included. The program typically spans two half-days and requires participants to hold at least an Open Water Diver certification, with refresher training recommended for those who have not recently dived. Designed as both an educational and adventurous experience, the course blends structured skill-building with the natural beauty of Lagos’s underwater landscape.
