The SSI Boat Diving Specialty program is designed to teach you how to dive safely and confidently from different types of boats, whether small personal craft or large liveaboards. By becoming a boat diver, you gain access to offshore dive sites that are rich with marine life, including schooling pelagics and large marine animals not usually found near the shore. This opens up opportunities to explore less crowded locations, enjoy the thrill of liveaboard diving, and experience breathtaking sunsets over the water while cruising between dive sites.
Through a combination of online training and practical open water sessions, the program equips you with the knowledge and skills needed for safe and comfortable boat diving. You will learn about boat entry and exit techniques, equipment management on board, and how to handle different conditions at sea. By the end of the program, you will have the confidence to dive from any boat and fully enjoy the adventure of exploring offshore dive sites. Upon completion, you will earn the SSI Boat Diving Specialty certification, expanding your diving opportunities worldwide.
