Appalachian Downhill Trails Deliver a Full Day of Mountain Adventure
Mountain biking enthusiasts can spend a full day exploring 15 downhill trails through the beautiful Appalachian forest. From 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., riders can enjoy a variety of terrain, scenic views, turns, bumps, and jumps designed to challenge different skill levels. The trails close briefly from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m.
Riders can reach the trail hubs at the top of the mountain in two ways. The adventurous option is the 1.1-mile Grindstone uphill trail, while those who prefer a ride can use the Holler Hauler UTV service from the Adventure Station. Guests choosing the vehicle option should expect a wait of 10 minutes or more and can pedal Grindstone instead to maximize their riding time.
Once at the top, riders can choose their preferred marked trail and enjoy the downhill journey back to the Adventure Station. The trails celebrate Appalachian heritage through names inspired by historic farm equipment, including Hay Baler, Humdinger, and Stump Grinder. Different bike styles, including e-bikes, are available at various price points, while guests may also bring their own approved bikes.
The experience includes trail access, general Farm admission, and helmet rental. Riders must be at least 48 inches tall, wear closed-toe shoes and pants or shorts, remain on marked trails, respect other riders, and return rented equipment after use. Personal bikes and helmets must be inspected and approved by Mountain Rim staff before they can be used.
