Appalachian Downhill Bike Adventure Takes Riders Through Mountain Rim Trails
Mountain biking enthusiasts can spend five exciting hours exploring 15 downhill trails through the scenic Appalachian forest. The adventure combines beautiful mountain scenery with varying levels of terrain, giving riders the chance to experience winding paths, challenging turns, bumps, and jumps from the top of the hill to the Adventure Station below.
Guests can rent a Giant Talon 2 hardtail bike, with different frame and wheel sizes available in limited quantities, or bring their own approved bike. Riders can reach the trail hubs by pedaling the 1.1-mile Grindstone uphill trail or using a Holler Hauler UTV. Those choosing the vehicle transfer should be prepared for a wait of 10 minutes or more.
Once at the top, riders can choose from the marked downhill trails and return to the Adventure Station whenever they are ready for another run. The trails celebrate Appalachian heritage through names inspired by historic farm equipment, including Hay Baler, Humdinger, and Stump Grinder. Other bike options, including softail bikes and e-bikes, are also available at different price points.
The experience includes trail access from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., general Farm admission, and helmet rental, with trails closed from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m. Riders must be at least 48 inches tall, wear closed-toe shoes and suitable pants or shorts, remain on marked trails, and return all rented equipment. Personal bikes and helmets require inspection and approval by Mountain Rim staff before use.
