Board your horse at Wildwood Stables in Acadia National Park for a six-night equestrian stay immersed in scenic landscapes and tranquil forest trails. The stables feature three barns with spacious stalls, water spigots, and a bathing area for horses. Guests can ride or drive along the park’s extensive carriage roads while enjoying peaceful surroundings and fresh air. Nine campsites with RV hookups provide electricity, water, and power access, allowing riders to combine overnight camping with hands-on horse care. This self-care boarding experience encourages riders to actively manage their horses while exploring the beauty and serenity of Acadia National Park.
Proper vaccination documentation is required for all horses before unloading, including negative Coggins, EHV-1 (Rhino), and Rabies vaccines, along with a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection for non-residents. Printed, organized copies are required as digital copies are only accepted in advance. Wheelbarrows, rakes, brooms, and manure forks are available for daily horse care, while hay and shavings are available for purchase. With limited cell coverage and no Wi-Fi, guests should prepare all materials ahead of time. This experience blends hands-on equestrian care with outdoor adventure, offering a unique opportunity to enjoy Maine’s historic carriage roads and peaceful landscapes safely and comfortably.
