Wildwood Stables Offers Six-Night Equestrian Stay Amid Acadia’s Historic Carriage Roads

A multi-night equestrian program at Acadia National Park is inviting riders to experience a six-night immersive stay centered at Wildwood Stables, combining hands-on horse care with exploration of the park’s renowned carriage road system. The experience places guests directly within Acadia’s forested and coastal landscape, offering a slower, more engaged form of outdoor travel.

The facility is equipped with three barns featuring spacious stalls, water access, and dedicated bathing areas for horses, supporting a full self-care boarding arrangement. Riders are able to traverse scenic carriage roads on horseback or carriage, moving through a network of wooded trails, open meadows, and quiet natural corridors.

Nine on-site campsites with RV hookups provide electricity, water, and power access, enabling participants to stay close to their animals while maintaining overnight comfort. The setup is designed to integrate camping and equestrian responsibilities, allowing guests to manage daily care routines while remaining immersed in the park environment.

Strict entry requirements ensure animal health and safety, including mandatory vaccination documentation such as negative Coggins, EHV-1 (Rhino), rabies records, and veterinary certification for non-resident horses. With limited connectivity and no Wi-Fi available, guests are advised to prepare in advance, reinforcing the program’s focus on self-sufficiency, outdoor living, and responsible equestrian practice in a protected natural setting.
