Wildwood Stables Offers Immersive Equestrian Stay in Acadia National Park

A four-night equestrian stay at Wildwood Stables in Acadia National Park is offering riders a hands-on experience that combines horse care with access to one of Maine’s most scenic trail networks. Surrounded by forested landscapes and historic carriage roads, the facility provides a rustic yet well-equipped base for equestrian travelers.

The stables feature three barns with spacious stalls, water access points, and designated bathing areas for horses. Guests can ride or drive along Acadia’s extensive carriage road system, enjoying quiet forest trails and open natural scenery while engaging directly with daily horse care responsibilities.

On-site camping facilities include nine RV-equipped campsites offering electricity, water, and basic utility access. This setup allows visitors to combine overnight stays with active participation in horse boarding, creating a self-sufficient experience rooted in outdoor living and equestrian tradition.

Strict entry requirements ensure animal health and safety, with guests required to present vaccination records including negative Coggins, EHV-1 (Rhino), Rabies, and a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection for non-residents. With limited cell service and no Wi-Fi available, participants are encouraged to prepare in advance, making the experience a focused retreat into nature and hands-on horsemanship within Acadia’s historic landscape.
