Board your horse at Wildwood Stables in Acadia National Park for a three-night equestrian experience surrounded by scenic forests and peaceful carriage trails. The facility features three barns with spacious stalls, water spigots, and a dedicated bathing area for horses. Guests can ride or drive along miles of forested carriage roads while enjoying fresh air, natural beauty, and serene landscapes. Nine campsites are available with RV hookups providing electricity, water, and power access, allowing riders to combine overnight camping with hands-on horse care. This self-care boarding experience encourages guests to actively manage their horses while experiencing the tranquility of Acadia National Park.
All visitors must present proper vaccination documentation before unloading horses, including negative Coggins, EHV-1 (Rhino), and Rabies vaccines, as well as a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection for non-residents. Printed, organized copies are required as digital copies are only accepted several days prior to arrival. Wheelbarrows, rakes, brooms, and manure forks are available for daily horse care, and hay and shavings can be purchased on site. With limited cell coverage and no Wi-Fi, guests should prepare all materials ahead of time. This experience blends hands-on equestrian care with outdoor adventure, providing riders a unique opportunity to enjoy Maine’s historic carriage roads and peaceful landscapes safely and comfortably.
