The Cold Process Goat Milk Soap Workshop at Jireh Hills Family Homestead is a two hour hands-on experience for anyone aged fourteen and older. Participants will learn the traditional skill of cold process soap making in a fun and interactive environment. The session begins with a brief introduction and live demonstration by an experienced soap maker, followed by the opportunity to create a personalized batch of soap using natural herbs, essential oils, flowers, and other additives. Students receive guidance on blending and planning their soap formulation, along with instruction on using safety equipment properly. Each participant pours their own batch and takes home approximately eight bars of handcrafted soap along with instructions for cutting, curing, and using it. This experience is perfect for a creative night out with friends or a relaxing day to explore a new craft. A portion of each booking supports a local children’s summer camp that promotes educational learning opportunities. Classes are held year-round and take place outdoors in nice weather or in a heated barn house during colder months.
The workshop emphasizes creativity, safety, and hands-on learning. Participants will gain confidence in soap making while learning about natural ingredients and cold process techniques. The instructor demonstrates the full process while students practice their own blends, ensuring a rewarding and memorable experience. The class also highlights sustainable craft practices and encourages experimentation with different scents, textures, and colors. Students leave with a finished product, knowledge of the soap making process, and inspiration to try new techniques at home. Safety precautions, aprons, and equipment are included, making it accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
