Stepping through the door of a traditional tea ceremony room is like entering a world where equality and mindfulness take center stage. In this serene setting, every participant is treated with the same respect, creating a harmonious atmosphere that allows for true appreciation of the art. The experience goes beyond simply drinking tea; it is an immersive journey into Japanese culture where students can learn about the concepts of wabi and sabi, the delicate beauty of imperfection, and the changing four seasons. Through the thoughtful presentation of wagashi, traditional Japanese sweets, participants gain insight into the subtle artistry and seasonal awareness that are central to this time-honored practice. Every gesture, every movement, and every detail is designed to foster mindfulness, patience, and a deeper understanding of the cultural values embedded in the tea ceremony.
Adding to the richness of the experience is the opportunity to wear a kimono, accompanied by elegant Japanese hairstyles that perfectly complement the traditional attire. Donning this beautiful garment allows participants to feel fully immersed in the culture, offering a tangible connection to Japan’s history and artistry. Photographs taken during the experience capture not only the visual beauty of the kimono and hairstyles but also the essence of the shared cultural journey. The tea ceremony experience is especially meaningful when shared with children, creating cherished memories that combine learning, beauty, and family bonding. It is an enchanting way to engage with Japanese tradition, appreciate its refined aesthetics, and take home both a deeper understanding and a collection of lasting memories that celebrate culture, mindfulness, and togetherness.

Chalita

The host shared the fascinating history of matcha and demonstrated the traditional brewing process. We even got the chance to participate in making our own. The atmosphere was beautifully Japanese—serene, simple, and minimalist.
Jeff

Our host Mai took us through the history and practices for the traditional Japanese tea ceremony in great detail. We enjoyed it very much and highly recommend it.
GetYourGuide

The experience was really great. They dressed us up and took wonderful photos throughout the ceremony. Kaori explained us many things to help us understand the historical and cultural context. She also showed us the preparation process step by step and everything it entails. Highly recommended.

I would like to take a moment to write an excellent review of this place and their service. On the day of my reservation, unfortunately I was unable to arrive at the scheduled time, and the ticket provider did not allow cancellations or rescheduling. Because of that, I ended up purchasing a second ticket for the same day at a different time. After finishing the experience —which, by the way, is excellent— the staff approached me and mentioned that they had noticed I made two reservations. They told me they were sorry that rebooking hadn’t been possible and, to compensate for the second ticket I had purchased, they kindly gave me some souvenirs, even though it was entirely my responsibility to miss the first reservation. This kind of customer service is something you rarely encounter in life, and I am truly grateful for the professionalism, kindness, and humility of the staff. 100% recommended.

Sasha

Our host was so amazing. She took the time to ask where everyone was fun. She also spent some time with the history of matcha and how the tea ceremony became what it is today. She was so knowledgeable.

We showed up realizing that we booked the wrong date, but Mai was so nice that she managed to accommodate us almost right away. The tea ceremony was very fun and educational, a memorable experience anyone should try at least once in a lifetime. Mai was very patient and knowledgeable, and she answered any questions we had. If you happen to visit Osaka, Mai’s tea ceremony is definitely a must-do activity that won’t disappoint.
