FIRST Steps Shotgun Course

This introductory shotgun course is designed for beginners who want to learn safe and effective shooting fundamentals in a controlled environment. During the session you will learn proper position grip sight picture breath control trigger squeeze and follow through along with safe loading and unloading procedures. The course begins with classroom instruction lasting at least one hour depending on group size where core concepts and safety rules are explained clearly and simply. This foundation helps students feel confident before moving to live practice.

After the classroom session participants head to the range for approximately one hour of supervised shooting. You will have the opportunity to fire at least twenty rounds while receiving guidance from an instructor. Shotguns suitable for beginners and smaller shooters are provided. This is not a full certification course and is intended as an introduction to shotgun handling and shooting. Range fees and ammunition are paid by students and valid photo identification is required. Visitors to the United States are welcome to participate in this training experience.
