Explore one of Colorado’s last wild freestone rivers with a full-day guided trip on the Animas River. Flowing through the heart of Durango, this river provides a local experience with opportunities to catch wild browns, rainbows, and cuttbows while enjoying mountain views, historic bridges, and dynamic river conditions. Depending on the season and water levels, your trip may be a walk-and-wade adventure or a drift through scenic stretches outside town. Trips are designed for small groups with a maximum of two people per boat and three anglers per wade guide, ensuring personalized instruction and attention for all skill levels. Trip availability and format can vary, so calling ahead to discuss current conditions and options is recommended.
The trip includes a professional fly fishing guide and all necessary equipment including rod, reel, flies, leader, and tippet. Refreshments are provided to keep you energized, and transportation options are available if needed. Guests are responsible for obtaining a valid fishing license for the state in which the trip takes place. Waders and boots are not included for walk-and-wade trips, so participants must bring their own. Guide gratuity is customary at around 20 percent of the trip total and is not included in the price. This Animas River trip is designed to provide a fun and well-organized fishing experience with expert guidance, allowing guests to enjoy one of the most scenic and dynamic rivers in Colorado.

Cat was our tour guide, and we had a great Jeep tour with the Trails and Rails – Jeep Tour & Train Package. We explored in Silverton area by Jeep and saw a ghost/mining town near the head in the Animas River. The views were amazing!

Fantastic! We took a jeep tour from Durango through May Day and up the canyon. My adult kids and I laughed all the way up. The views were spectacular and our driver was knowledgeable and competent. Would do again in a heartbeat! We also did a half day Mesa Verde overview tour with Miles: also so knowledgeable and informative! This tour is a perfect start if you have several days in the area. After this, book a ranger guided tour.

Loved, loved, loved this tour with Kat! Extremely knowledgeable, engaging & enthusiastic about Mesa Verdez Park. I especially appreciated to have someone who was very flexible with multiple bathroom stops. She provided support & encouragement to those concerned about the climb to Cliff Palace. She made sure we had plenty of photo opportunities, as well as offering to take group & individual pictures. I felt like she was an old friend showing me around the park. Well worth $$$ for all day tour!

What an incredible day we had exploring Mesa Verde with our amazing tour guide and host Jay! We always wanted to see Mesa Verde but booking this tour made this trip a true bucket list experience! Jay's infectious personality and knowledge of the park and the Native culture was mind blowing! We could tell how passionate Jay was from the moment we hopped into the van. He was the perfect host and even made sure we stayed hydrated all day to fend off potential altitude sickness. It seemed his only motivation was to make 100% sure we saw and did everything we wanted to do in Mesa Verde, including a climb down into Cliff Palace! But we also visited other ruins and soaked up as much information as we possibly could! We've been fortunate enough to have booked some great tours but this one was by far one of the best ones we've ever done! And while the park in and of itself park is well worth the visit, if you truly want a truly memorable experience, book a tour with Jay and Mild to Wild. I promise you it will be well worth it!

We had a great time on our rafting trip with Mild to Wild! Our guide, Riley, did an excellent job, he was professional, knowledgeable, and made sure everything ran smoothly from start to finish. Our daughters, ages 9 and 10, had a fantastic time and felt totally comfortable and safe the entire ride. It was the perfect mix of adventure and fun for the whole family. Highly recommend this company, and Riley was a big part of what made the experience so enjoyable.
