Quality waters of the San Juan River with the #1 Quality Guide by the name of Chris Gallegos. Highly recommend him and Born n’ Raised for any wade or float trip. They understand customer service and work super hard to please. Yes, caught plenty of Fish! Thank You Terry Chavez (owner) and Chris for a fantastic time!

What an exciting and unforgettable experience – meeting up for some family fly fishing at Navajo Dam with two experts from ‘Born N Raised’! Dave was my guide and coach, encouraging me to keep my eyes on the indicator and respond instantly to every bite, as he rowed upstream and let us drift down stream in the channel that was exactly where the fish were. By noon I’d caught 13 beautiful rainbows. Michael and Adam, in the boat with John as their guide, had a good catch too, but I was the star of the day. We were so eager to keep our lines in the water, we didn’t stop to take pictures of the catch. Thank you, Adam, for setting up this incredible adventure on the San Juan. Thanks Dave and John for getting us out on the river where we could experience fly fishing at its best. ~ Nancy Sherman, Montpelier Vermont

We went out with Don Haber for a full day on Thursday and a half day Friday in order to get down to the Lobo Ranch to shoot our elk; we took the biggest bull in our herd, a 5x5. That has to be the best combination of trips. Last year we timed our trip so that we got in a Pronghorn hunt, two days on the San Juan and finished with the balloon festival in Albuquerque. Plus, this year, we stayed at Abe's, an iconic location on the river. The room was great, food very good, and we got to catch a bunch of fish. I spend several weeks per year with a guide, either hunting or fishing, and what I enjoyed about Don was he had a great rap, and the day flew by. Some guides will hardly speak with you and others talk non stop. Don is like a good, consultative sales guy; he judges the situation and talks at an appropriate level. If you have a bunch of questions, you'll get a bunch of answers. If you don't want to talk, that's cool, too. Rick Thomas Hudson, OH

My Son won a trip from Born N 'Raised Guide Service at a sportsman's banquet and he wanted it to be a father/son experience and it really was. Our guide was Chris and it was a wonderful day of fishing and for me the catching was fabulous. Not only was he knowledgeable about the river and the fish but he talked me thru as I caught four fish from 17 inches to 19 1/2 inches in length. He furnished the lunch of sandwiches and water and as you should know that is just what the doctor ordered when fishing. He was very respectful of an old duffer and his limitations in movement. This 85 year old will request Chris if ever again I get the chance to go again with this organization. No hesitation. I have been using Born N' Raised guide service on the San Juan River since my first trip there in 1997. They have always provided excellent service and a great trip, whether I have brought business associates, family or friends. My recent solo trip with guide Chris G. was another great example, he took the time to tailor the trip to my preferences and experience. We caught plenty of good trout, and as always, I picked up some great tips to make the rest of my trip productive as well.
