Definitely a magical place of turrets, gardens, grottos, tunnels and castles. Our family of two parents and a 7 year old were constantly impressed by the experience exploring this vast hilly beauty. What an opulent estate, which for us needed little imagination, though we of course considered why, what and how things were. Luckily for us there was no crowd and rain fell at times, but the rain was helpful in complementing the drips in the grottos and greenery of the lush gardens. I've seen a lot, this is top 10, easily. There are lots of stairs along with up and down hill paths. You can choose how much or how little you'd like to do.
Def buy tickets in advance. The place is super magical as you can explore all the grounds and the nature and landscapes are beautiful. There is a waterfall inside that is very nice for a picture. The actual mansion/house is kinda small as only the ground floor is open for visit. The cafe is extremely bad and expensive, avoid at all costs.
The house itself is quite nice but not that big. The gardens, instead, are huge and it takes a lot to visit. They are very nice with a lot of different spots. Probably, the best way to enjoy the place is with a guide. It is possible to buy an audioguide (5€) which is activated at different spots along the way. Anyway, I found it quite poor considering the places. Maybe too high expectations.
