Good experience. Only walked over and back. A lot of people went off and walked the trail, but it's not a circular route so have to either get a taxi (in the middle of nowhere) or walk back up the very steep steps, to the go back over the bridge only at set times. It's definitely worth doing.

Before visiting the bridge, make sure that the bridge is open. How? You may call the contact center. Since we came from Porto, we did not want to get disappointed by the closure bridge once we arrived in Arouca. It was not a short journey, and yes it was worth it. Pros 1. You need to pay the admission fee entrance to cross the bridge. 2. Stunning view from the middle of the bridge. If you have a phobia of height, it is better to skip. 3. They have a lunch time operation during our visit, and we can cross back after they finish. 4. You must walk a few kms to reach the bridge. You just need to follow the sign. You will pass local housing. We parked our car close to the main street. There is also a taxi service if you are too lazy to walk. 5. You have an option to take the wood stairs down until the river. I skipped it since I already did that 6 years ago before the bridge opened.

Walking the 516 Arouca bridge feels like stepping into another world. The views are insane - mountains, cliffs, a wild river below. You’re surrounded by silence, wind, and nature. The trail is super clean and well-marked. Everything feels organized and safe. Please note: Tickets are only sold online (as guide told) Come at your scheduled time (groups start at time on ticket) Know your entrance before booking (there’s two different) A taxi from halfway back to bus station Arouca cost us 30 euros One of the most beautiful hikes I’ve done — and totally worth it.

Amazing bridge and excellent views. I came here as part of my holiday in Portugal, and I absolutely recommend you see this. If you do have a fear of heights, I would avoid it. However, as someone who is scared of heights, I did brave this and am glad I did as there were lovely views. I do recommend that you double-check your tour times and make sure you buy a ticket (12€~) before you go and make sure you dont have anything to lose as it can get very windy.

Great experience. We went with Get your guide, just come. They make the tour that way that most of the walking is down the hill and down the stairs. Make sure you have some water and snacks, we also got the backpack with some waters and snack included in the price. Amazing views, all the way. The bridge is an amazing experience it kind a takes your breath away! 100% recommend the visit. Our tour guide João was amazing, told us a bunch of stuff about the park. We went from Porto and as we didn’t have a car so we could drive up there ourself, the trip was a bit more expensive 95€ per person. But definitely worth the price! The trip from Porto started at 8:30 and we were back at Porto at around 17:30. Of you want to include some activity in your Portugal trip i suggest you go!
