It has it's charm, but the area could be better maintained. Visited in the summer and now in December and my opinion has not changed. There is 1 little kiosk type place you can grab a coffee and a snack, but other than that there isn't much to see. The hotel / palace itself seems to be for guests only and not open to visitors who would like to see the building. Also for a 5 star hotel, the exterior and surrounding structuren are in dire need of some TLC. Such a beautiful building and it's slowly being lost to time...
Lots of trails to hike and the forest is nice and cool on a hot day
It feels like you are back in the time of colonoscopy. Like you, somewhere in Bolivia, and those haciendas for the trade of narco barons. Honestly, time stopped there. Talking about the hotel. The forest is impressive and a long walk.
