This unique trek follows one of the most scenic routes in the country, passing through pristine forests, alpine meadows, and dramatic valleys. Along the way, trekkers witness breathtaking views of snow capped peaks and rich biodiversity, including regions known for the elusive snow leopard. The experience combines natural beauty with meaningful cultural encounters, making it more than just a trek.
The highlight of this journey is the two day Jomolhari Mountain Festival held at Jangothang, where semi nomadic yak herders celebrate their traditions, lifestyle, and deep connection with nature. It was a five day trek with one day stay at the base camp. It takes two days of halt at Thangthangka to reach Jomolhari Base Camp. And, honestly this is a must visit! The first day may be a bit too long but the trail is gently sloped along the Paro Chu banks. You can enjoy the serene alpine vegetation. There are also few spectacular waterfalls on the way and often marmots can be in your sights. And the mountain view is just beautiful!!!
