Shepherd's Hut

Two handbuilt traditional shepherd huts sit in a peaceful and private woodland setting offering a truly off grid escape. Each hut features a comfortable full size sprung double bed with hypoallergenic bedding and soft brushed cotton linen. Inside there is a small wood burning stove a dresser and a double ring gas cooking hob along with plates cutlery pots and pans for a self contained stay. Solar powered low voltage lighting supports a low carbon holiday. Outside you can relax on log seating and enjoy cooking over a heavy duty steel campfire with barbecue skillet. Toilet and shower facilities are a short walk away with an outdoor sink nearby for washing up.

The retreat feels wonderfully remote yet is located just eight miles south of Forres with easy access to shops restaurants and local amenities. The surrounding area is a hidden Scottish gem close to the Cairngorm Mountains beaches and an award winning coastline. A short walk leads to the River Findhorn often described as one of the most beautiful rivers in Scotland. Designed exclusively for couples the huts offer privacy quiet romance wildlife sounds and dark star filled skies.
