Two handbuilt traditional shepherds huts offer a peaceful and private retreat in a tranquil setting. Each hut features a comfortable sprung full-size double bed with hypoallergenic pillows and a cosy duvet covered in brushed cotton linen. Inside, there is a small wood burner, a dresser, a double ring gas hob, and all the necessary plates, cutlery, and cookware for a self-contained stay. Outside, guests can enjoy log seating and a heavy duty steel campfire with a skillet for an authentic glamping experience. Low voltage solar lighting provides an off-grid, low carbon holiday, while a toilet and shower block is only a short walk away. The huts are positioned to provide visual and noise privacy, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in the surrounding wilderness. Stable doors open to the forest, letting in the sounds of wildlife and views of the changing light and starry skies.
The location is remote yet only eight miles south of the town of Forres, which has restaurants, takeaways, bars, supermarkets, and shops. The area is a lesser-known Scottish gem with easy access to the Cairngorm Mountains, beaches, and award-winning coastline. The River Findhorn, often called the most beautiful river in Scotland, is a short walk away. The huts are designed for couples seeking a romantic escape, with rustic wood burners for warmth and a whistling kettle for tea. A basket of hardwood is provided, and there is a nearby outdoor sink for washing up. Guests can access power at a small kiosk, but a digital detox is encouraged to fully enjoy the serene surroundings.
