The PADI Rescue Diver course teaches participants how to think and act like a rescue diver, combining home study with practical skill training under the guidance of an instructor. The knowledge development section can be completed online at your own pace, making it easy to fit the course into a busy schedule. During in-water training, students practice handling a variety of scenarios, such as assisting a tired diver or managing a leg cramp, through role-playing exercises with the instructor and other students. The course emphasizes performance-based learning, allowing divers to demonstrate their skills effectively in open water. Prerequisites include Adventure Diver certification or higher with completed underwater navigation dive and EFR Primary and Secondary Care training within 24 months. The total commitment is four half days, with eLearning requiring approximately eight hours, and the minimum age is 12 years.
While completing the course, divers can enjoy the stunning marine environment, taking photographs of colorful corals and tropical fish, and capturing memorable selfies. On the way, participants may encounter the local intelligent octopus and admire the breathtaking Ponta Da Piedade cliffs. Diving equipment, manuals, and certification are included, while dive computers, flashlights, and surface marker buoys are not provided. Swimming-wear and a towel should be brought along, and the activity is not wheelchair accessible, although accommodations for neurodivergence can be requested. Guests can arrive at their convenience and enjoy breakfast or lunch before training.
