Experience the essence of Italian winemaking with a captivating two-hour guided visit to a picturesque countryside winery, just a short distance from Rome. Begin your journey with a scenic walk through lush vineyards, where you'll be introduced to the region’s unique volcanic soils and favorable growing conditions that have nurtured grape cultivation for over two thousand years. Your dedicated wine guide will provide insights into the winemaking traditions dating back to Roman times, showcasing the historical significance of the region in the development of viticulture and how these ancient practices continue to influence modern winemaking.
After the vineyard tour, your guide will take you to the heart of the winery to explore the winemaking process. You’ll visit the steel tank area where fermentation takes place, followed by the oak barrel room where wines age and develop unique flavors and complexity. Throughout this journey, your guide will share the meticulous techniques involved in producing exceptional wines, from hand-harvesting the grapes to carefully monitoring the aging process. You’ll gain a deeper understanding of how the terroir and time come together to create the winery’s distinct wines.
The highlight of your visit is a curated tasting of four exquisite wines, showcasing the diversity and quality of the winery’s offerings. The tasting includes a selection of red and rosé wines, each reflecting the local terroir and winemaking expertise of the region. To enhance the experience, a delicious food platter featuring local cheeses, savory ham, freshly baked bread, and water to cleanse your palate between tastings will be provided. This is a perfect opportunity to explore Rome’s rich winemaking history while enjoying the beauty of the Italian countryside, making it ideal for couples, groups of friends, or anyone looking to dive into the art of winemaking, even on rainy days.

Our group of 2 couples did the Frascati Cooking Class with Dominique on Oct 2. We had just arrived in Rome the day before and were given very specific instructions from getting on the train at Termini to arriving at the old farmhouse. Dominique was passionate, knowledgeable, and incredibly welcoming, making us feel like part of the family. The foods we made were fun to create and so fresh and tasty. The wine complimented the foods. Even our husbands enjoyed the experience! This was an unforgettable, authentic, and hands-on experience.

If you’re reading this and thinking about doing a wine tour, stop thinking and just book this one! It’s easily the best wine experience I’ve ever had. From the vineyard walk and helping with the harvest, to tasting the grapes, enjoying a delicious homemade lunch, and sampling the outstanding wines, every moment was perfect. Even the dinner recommendations were perfect. The highlight of our trip to Italy for sure! A special thanks to Dominique, whose warmth, knowledge, and enthusiasm made the whole experience so memorable. Be sure to check out her website to make your booking!

I’ve lived in Rome for about 2 years and this is my FAVORITE wine tour!!!! Dominque does an amazing job of providing such a local, real experience and being so easy to communicate. Amazing vibes and even better wine!!! And gorgeous countryside. Truly the best time and highly recommend.

Paola and Giovanna were fantastic! Great tour of a vineyard with a thorough walkthrough of different variations of wine making. Going through the cave was a cool experience and the tasting was a great experience. I enjoyed the tour of the town of Frascati just as much as the vineyard as it was neat to see the dynamic of the small town. No pressure to buy any wine either.
