5'8" Seaside Helium

Rob Machado describes the Seaside as an evolution of the Go Fish, designed to bring higher performance while keeping the playful and fun nature of the original board. While the Go Fish is fast, loose, and skatey, the Seaside focuses on tighter turns and more precise carves. Machado refined the design by reducing the tail area, narrowing the tips of the swallow, adding more curve, and narrowing the nose. These changes allow the Seaside to excel in performance-oriented surfing, providing a board that is responsive and lively for aggressive maneuvers. The Go Fish, in contrast, remains a cruisy and fun option for more relaxed surfing. Machado also made the Seaside a strictly quad setup, redesigning the concaves and bottom contours to optimize performance specifically for a quad configuration, ensuring that all elements work together to deliver control and balance on the wave.

The Seaside is named after Machado’s home break, reflecting its perfect performance in local conditions. Unlike the LFT construction used for bigger waves, the Seaside is built in Helium, making it lightweight, flexy, responsive, and durable. Helium construction is ideal for smaller beach breaks and point breaks, providing a softer feel and better maneuverability in weaker waves.
