5'7" Seaside Helium

Rob Machado describes the Seaside as an evolution of the Go Fish, designed to bring a higher performance feel while maintaining the fun and playful nature of the original board. While the Go Fish is known for its speed, skatey feel, and loose ride, the Seaside focuses on more precise carves and tighter turns. Machado refined the design by reducing area in the tail, narrowing the tips of the swallow, and creating more curve while narrowing the nose. These adjustments make the Seaside more performance-oriented, perfect for ripping and aggressive surfing, while the Go Fish remains a cruisy and enjoyable option. The board is strictly a quad, with a complete redesign of the concaves and bottom contours to optimize the quad setup. Machado emphasized that every element of the concave setup was considered to make the quad perform seamlessly, providing a balanced and responsive ride that differs from his other boards like the Moonbeam and Go Fish.

The name Seaside comes from Machado's home break, where he finds the board performs perfectly. Naming boards can be challenging, but this design fit the characteristics of his local waves. The Seaside is built in Helium, making it lightweight, responsive, flexy, and durable. Unlike the LFT construction used for bigger waves like in Tahiti, Helium is ideal for smaller beach breaks and point breaks, providing a softer feel and better performance in weaker waves. This combination of design, construction, and tailored concaves makes the Seaside an ideal high performance option for surfers seeking precision and fun in a wide variety of conditions.
