Come join us on the water for an intensive marina workshop designed to develop essential docking and boat-handling skills. Participants must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 to take part in excursions, and proof of vaccination may be required. Masks are required on the boat and within the marina at the captain’s discretion to ensure safety and comfort for everyone. The workshop lasts approximately six hours, providing ample time for hands-on practice, guidance, and learning in real marina conditions. This session is ideal for new sailors or anyone looking to improve confidence and control when maneuvering a sailboat in tight spaces.
Docking and general boat handling can be one of the most challenging aspects of learning to sail, especially for those accustomed to powerboats. Sailboats with a single prop behave very differently, requiring a unique set of skills for precise maneuvering. In this workshop, participants will gain the knowledge and confidence to get their boat—or someone else’s—safely in and out of a slip with minimal stress. You will also learn how to turn the boat efficiently in very limited space, often just slightly more than the boat’s own length, and practice maneuvering in tight or close-quarters situations. By the end of the session, you will have developed the practical skills and confidence needed for smooth, controlled docking in a variety of marina conditions.
