Discover the magic of fused glass in this exclusive two day workshop in Rotorua, New Zealand. Join visiting UK artist Sue Tinkler, a former graphic designer with over two decades of glass artistry experience. This immersive course is designed for anyone curious about the vibrant world of glass fusing. Sue brings her extensive knowledge to guide you on a creative journey, helping you transform simple sheets of glass into stunning works of art in a supportive studio environment. This is a unique opportunity to learn from an international expert right here in Rotorua. Your artistic adventure begins as you master the fundamentals of glass cutting, layering, and embossing. You will create three small textured pieces before starting your main landscape project. The second day elevates your skills as you pull your own molten glass murrine into delicate leaf shapes. You will also explore using glass powders to achieve soft, watercolour style effects while crafting a beautiful set of tealight holders. The workshop culminates as you assemble your final landscape wall piece, adding depth and intricate detail with your custom made murrine and other unique glass shapes. By the end of the workshop, you will have a collection of unique, handmade glass art to cherish. Your finished creations undergo a slow cooling process in the kiln overnight to ensure their strength and beauty. This is a wonderful opportunity to unleash your creativity and leave with both new skills and treasured keepsakes.
