Discover the captivating art of glass fusing in this exclusive two day workshop right here in Rotorua, New Zealand. Join visiting UK artist Sue Tinkler, a celebrated glass maker with a background in graphic design, as she guides you on an inspiring creative journey. You will transform simple sheets of glass into stunning textured landscapes, learning foundational techniques from an international expert. This immersive experience is your chance to explore a unique art form and create beautiful, personal pieces with your own hands in a supportive studio environment. Over two consecutive days, your adventure in glass unfolds. On day one, you will learn the fundamentals of glass cutting and layering while creating three small art pieces featuring embossed textures and copper elements. You will also begin the first stage of your larger fused wall art piece, setting the foundation for your masterpiece. Day two is all about adding intricate depth and detail. You will have the unique opportunity to pull your own molten glass stringers, known as vitrigraph, and strategically use them to bring your landscape to life. To complete your collection, you will also craft a beautiful set of matching tea-lights. By the end of this Rotorua workshop, you will leave with new skills and a collection of handmade glass art, including your main landscape piece, ready to treasure after its final transformation in the kiln overnight.
