Texas LTC Shooting Qualification Completes Required Live-Fire Assessment
The Texas License to Carry (LTC) Shooting Qualification is a one-hour, range-only session designed for individuals who have already completed the required classroom instruction and need to fulfill the state-mandated live-fire portion of the licensing process. Conducted by certified instructors, the session provides an efficient and professionally supervised environment for completing the practical qualification.
Participants complete the official shooting assessment by firing 50 rounds while demonstrating safe handgun handling and marksmanship in accordance with Texas LTC standards. The qualification is conducted under close instructor supervision to ensure compliance with state requirements and established range safety procedures.
Students are required to bring two printed copies of their LTC-104 form, along with a handgun, ammunition, and eye and ear protection. For added convenience, rental firearms, ammunition, and protective equipment are available on-site for those who need them, allowing participants to complete the qualification even if they do not have their own equipment.
Upon arrival, participants should check in with range staff and identify themselves as attending the LTC Qualification session. Those scheduled before normal business hours are asked to arrive a few minutes early to ensure a timely start. With a limited class size and streamlined format, the session offers a focused and efficient way to complete the final live-fire requirement for a Texas License to Carry.
