The USCCA Women’s Handgun & Self-Defense Fundamentals Level 2 course is a 2.5-hour intermediate training program designed for women who have already mastered basic pistol fundamentals and are ready to advance their defensive shooting abilities. Building on Level 1 or equivalent experience, the course expands both technical skills and decision-making awareness for real-world personal protection.
The classroom portion focuses on deeper topics such as defensive mindset development, situational awareness, handgun selection, ammunition types, and holster options. Students are introduced to the principles of responding under stress, with an emphasis on judgment, preparedness, and safe decision-making in defensive scenarios.
On the range, participants apply these concepts through structured drills that reinforce foundational skills while introducing more advanced techniques. The use of inert training rounds allows safe simulation of defensive situations, helping students build confidence and improve reaction skills in a controlled environment.
Students are expected to bring a pistol (or rental), two magazines, 50 rounds of ammunition, and appropriate safety gear including eye and ear protection. With a balanced mix of instruction and hands-on practice, Level 2 prepares participants to progress toward more advanced defensive training with greater confidence and competence.
