Sherlock Holmes Murder Mystery Cruise Brings Interactive Theatre to the Thames
A thrilling three-hour murder mystery cruise along the River Thames invites guests to step into the world of detective fiction with an interactive experience inspired by Sherlock Holmes. Hosted by the Windsor and Maidenhead Boat Company in partnership with the Sherlock Holmes Society, the cruise combines live entertainment, dining, and scenic river views for a unique adventure.
The experience begins with guests meeting Mr Holmes and taking part in an engaging mixer quiz, where selected participants may become suspects using props and costumes. Visitors are also encouraged to dress in character, adding to the immersive atmosphere as the mystery unfolds on board.
Shortly after departure, a fictional murder sets the investigation into motion. As guests enjoy their main course, dramatic scenes are performed and important clues are revealed, encouraging everyone to observe carefully, question suspects, and work together to uncover the truth. After the meal, participants can search the boat for hidden evidence, adding an exciting hands-on element to the detective challenge.
The evening concludes with dessert, tea or coffee, and the final reveal of the culprit, followed by a prize-giving moment. With a menu featuring braised beef with fondant potato, red cabbage, and green beans, along with a vegetarian lemon posset dessert, the cruise combines mystery, dining, and entertainment into an unforgettable Thames experience suitable for families, friends, and groups.

Customer Reviews
We went for my sisters hen do and it was amazing. The hosts at the foxford lodge were brilliant, they looked after us so well while still giving us our space. The murder mystery game itself was really well run by a hilarious man who rolled with our humour. The entire weekend was a hit from start to finish and I would really recommend to anyone organising a group event. Thanks to everyone involved at the foxford lodge for making a truly great weekend that made my sister feel really special.
Stay here this week 3 days, very welcomed by the owners, would recommend to anyone wanting bnb to stay here.
We are a family of 29 who wanted to do a Murder Mystery for our Dads' 80th birthday. A big group, a big ask and Harry stepped up to the mark. He liaised with one of our group continuously and organised everything from accommodation, bus transport, costumes, birthday cake and the actual Murder Mystery game itself. We had an absolute ball and were looked after brilliantly. I would recommend this type of entertainment for all types of groups, of all ages too !
