Swan Uppers Picnic Cruise

Experience a unique Thames tradition on a three-hour scenic cruise aboard The Georgian. This annual cruise is inspired by Swan Upping, a historic event on the river, and offers guests the opportunity to learn about the customs and history of the Thames through live commentary from the skipper. While participants will not take part in the actual Swan Upping ceremony, the cruise provides an engaging and educational experience as guests enjoy views of the river and its surroundings. The cruise is designed to celebrate the traditions of the Thames, giving visitors a sense of the annual activities that take place along the river in a relaxed and informative setting.

Guests will enjoy a shared picnic-style menu served at the table in groups of four, followed by tea or coffee. The menu includes a variety of seasonal and savory items such as brussels pate pot, mini pork pies, sausage rolls, cheese straws, green salad, potato salad, hummus, cheese and chive dips, and a baker’s basket of bread. The cruise accommodates a minimum of thirty and a maximum of sixty guests and departs from two convenient pickup locations at Windsor Leisure Centre and Maidenhead Riverside Gardens. This leisurely cruise offers a combination of education, history, and culinary enjoyment along one of England’s most famous rivers.
