This overnight river trip is the shortest option offered, perfect for families or anglers looking for a relaxed pace. Spanning only 10.5 miles over two days, the journey begins with a gentle six mile paddle down to Arcadia. This first day usually takes two to three hours, allowing participants plenty of time to enjoy the scenery, take breaks, or try their luck fishing along the way. The section features five class two rapids, providing a mix of fun challenges without being too demanding, making it ideal for younger paddlers or those new to river trips. The river winds through picturesque mountain views and a quiet wilderness setting, offering a peaceful escape from everyday life.
On the second day, participants paddle approximately 4.5 miles down to the Alpine take out, a one to one and a half hour journey. This stretch is known for excellent smallmouth bass fishing and is frequently highlighted in regional fishing guides. The trip ends with a shuttle pickup at 10:30 am at Alpine. For safety reasons, a minimum of two participants is required, all must know how to swim, and the minimum age is six years old. Rental of boats, paddles, life jackets, safety orientation, river maps, dry bags, water jugs, and access to private camping sites are included in the trip.
